STUDENTS' PAPERS, 2005 —
"Marine Insurance: analysis of CMI draft guidelines"

As an assignment, the 2005 Shipping Law LLM class was asked to examine issues of good faith, non-disclosure and misrepresentation in marine insurance in the light of the CMI draft guidelines which were tabled at the CMI Vancouver Conference in September 2004. Students were asked to keep an eye on the legal systems in their own countries.

We have chosen a paper from some of the 12 different countries represented in the 2005 shipping law class. We hope they are useful to others studying marine insurance. In each case the students' email addresses are given and readers are welcome to contact the authors direct. The selected papers are listed below.

The first link is to the CMI Guidelines themselves. Please remember that these guidelines are drafts only and not an official CMI text.

  • Please remember also that the authors of these papers hold copyright and that quotes taken from the papers should be properly acknowledged.
