History and Sources of the Law of the Sea: Baselines, Territorial
Water Zones: Internal Waters; Territorial Sea; Archipelagic Waters.
Non Territorial Water Zones: Contiguous Zone; Continental Shelf;
Exclusive Economic Zone; Exclusive Fishing Zone.
Zones Beyond Particular National Jurisdiction: High Seas:
International Sea-Bed Area.
Settlement of disputes.
DP Requirements: Satisfactory attendance at and participation in
lectures and tutorials.
Examination requirements:
One three-hour written examination in November counts for 100%. A
candidate may be permitted to elect to write the examination earlier in
June/July/August in which event he/she will not be eligible to write the
examination in October/November. The candidate shall inform the Registrar
in writing of his/her election not later than 15 March of the year in
