About our Logo . . .
Our
logo is a silhouette of the powerful deep-sea salvage tugs John Ross
and Wolraad Woltemade owned and operated by Smit
Marine in Cape Town. The tugs are both 94.6m long with a breadth of
15.8m and a gross tonnage of 2 860. Their bollard pull of 180 tonnes is
delivered by 26 200 IHP main engines.
The tugs have done sterling salvage work off the SA coast and
world-wide since they were commissioned in the mid 1970s.
